PRIOR TO OPERATION

BE CAREFUL OF THE POWER
Make sure that the plug is disconnected Make sure that the PLUG IS DISCONNECTED from the power source (or, for battery-operated tools, the battery is removed) when preparing for use or inspecting your tool.

Failure of the above may result in an UNEXPECTED START OF THE SAW which can cause serious injury.
Make sure that the switch is in off position When starting the use of tool, make sure that the SWITCH IS IN OFF POSITION BEFORE CONNECTING THE PLUG (or, for battery-operated tools, INSERTING THE BATTERY).

CHECK THE LOWER GUARD
Check the LOWER GUARD Check if the LOWER GUARD moves freely and close instantly before each use.

The LOWER GUARD may get stuck due to deformation of the tool, build-up of debris and abnormal condition of the spring. If the LOWER GUARD did not close, the moving blade may be exposed towards the operator resulting in serious injury.

AVOID ACCIDENTS FROM KICKBACK
What is a KICKBACK? What is a KICKBACK?

KICKBACK is the unexpected saw lifting up and out of the workpiece toward the operator, caused by a contact of a moving blade and the workpiece.

KICKBACK can make you lose the control of the saw suddenly, and may result in serious injury.
Do not move until complete stop In order to resist kickback forces, strictly follow the basic rules above said;
(i) support the work piece firmly, and
(ii) hold the saw firmly with BOTH HANDS.

When interrupting a cut, do not move the saw until the blade comes to a complete stop.

When restarting a saw in the middle of a workpiece, make sure that the blade is centered in the kerf.

Supports for large panels Supports for large panels must be placed under the panel on BOTH near the line of cut AND near the edge of the panel.

USE PROPERLY

stop the use immediately if the tool appears defective or is operating abnormally.
OUT OF use, disconnect the plug during inspection.
never alter or modify the tool.
